West Indies cricket captain, Darren Sammy, believes that the two Twenty20 Internationals against England will provide Caribbean players a massive opportunity to gear up for the crucial upcoming
tournaments.
After meeting the Englishmen in a couple of T20s at Oval on September 23 and September 25, 2011 respectively, Sammy and company is scheduled to visit http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 and India later this year.
Moreover, the Windies are determined to do well in the ICC T20 World Championship, set to be held in Sri Lanka next year.
Sammy feels that a fine show in the clash against England will help http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 begin the overseas campaign with a bang.
"This series signals the start of our overseas campaign for this year and we want to start our travels on a winning note.  These two matches present us with a chance to look at players as
we prepare for the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 next year,” said Sammy.
The West Indian side failed to produce good results in their recent International competitions. After showing an ordinary performance in the clash against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755, the side suffered a humiliating
Test and One Day International (ODI) series defeat at the hands of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750.
On the other hand, the Poms are in a terrific rhythm at the moment as they hammered the World Champions in Test and ODI battles respectively.
Sammy admitted that it will be a very tough contest against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013, as the No. 1 Test side has been producing outstanding results over the last couple of years.
However, the West Indian skipper is convinced that the players will come up with something special against England, as they are training extremely hard these days.
"England have been playing some very good cricket in all three formats of the game and we know we face a major challenge in this series. But we have some very confident players who are eager
to prove themselves and give their utmost for the people of the West Indies,” shared the 27-year-old all-rounder who has led the country in 22 ODIs.
