After a rainy day, fans at The Rose Bowl, Southampton finally had a chance to root for their teams when the second one-day match between hosts England and India was reduced from 50 overs to a 23-over event.
After winning the toss, England who have not lost a single match in the tournament against India this summer invited the tourists to bat first under humid conditions.
Meanwhile, India desperately needed a victory in the game after losing the four match Test series by 4-0 and then going on to lose the only Twenty20 match between the two sides.
Having batted well in the first ODI, the Indians failed to grab a win as the match was abandoned due to rain at Riverside Ground, Chester-le-Street.
However, the tourists were hoping to open their account of victories in this game by posting a formidable tally on the board to leave the English something to think about.

With this win, the Poms have taken a lead of 1-0 in the five-match series.
