England v India 2nd Test match: Pataudi Trophy - Analysis of Day - One
England were bowled out for 221 runs against India on the first day’s play of the second Test match at Trent Bridge, Nottingham in England on Friday, July 29, 2011.
This certainly would have given some confidence to the tourists, who were thumped in the first match of the series at Lord’s by 196 runs.

http://www.senore.com/Cricket/I-Sharma-c1566 shared the new ball from the other end and both enjoyed the pace and swing off the wicket.
Cook failed to last longer, as he was dismissed after adding just a couple of runs to the total. He was a touch unlucky though, as the umpire http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Marais-Erasmus-c74368 made a mistake, ruling him leg-before-wicket.
The ball struck Cook above the knee roll and the replays suggested that it would have missed the stumps by a few inches.

Pietersen looked threatening, as he did not have much concerns in the middle. He failed to make most of the start to his innings though, getting out for 29 runs.
The hosts’ skipper was the next man to be dismissed. He took a long time to settle down and would have been disappointed to give his wicket away after collecting 32 runs off 98 balls.
Three balls later, middle-order batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032 was sent back to the pavilion without troubling the scorers. He scored a first innings duck at Lord’s and repeated the same at Trent Bridge.
Wicketkeeper batsman http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MJ-Prior-c1984 was the next victim of the visitors, as he managed just one run in his short outing. England had lost three wickets for the same number of runs at that stage and were in deep trouble at 88/6.
