This sensational batting performance from Pietersen took the advantage away from the Indian team, which had decided to field first after winning the toss.
However, the conditions had eased out for the batsmen and the visitors would have hoped for a good show once they came out to bat.

Dravid and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 tried to steady the ship for their side, collecting 57 runs for the sixth-wicket partnership. The visitors’ captain failed to make a significant impression though, as he got out for 28.
Things looked grim for the number one Test team of the world, but Dravid saved his side from the humiliation of follow-on. The veteran batsman scored an unbeaten 103 runs for his side, guiding the team’s total to 286. He ran out of partners at the other

England’s Stuart Broad, who was likely to miss the match following his poor run of form with the ball, proved his worth to the side with a superb four-wicket haul. He could have easily have five, but was let down by the fielders, who grounded a couple of
catches off his bowling.
