England v Netherlands World Cup predictions: The Poms losing after surpassing 413 runs against Netherlands and more - ICC World Cup 2011

Every four years, the cricket enthusiasts wait anxiously for the biggest cricket extravaganza ever- the ICC World Cup.
We wait for the controversies and the altercations between the batsmen and the bowlers and things are made spicier when the umpires are dragged in. At least that’s what “most” of the cricket writers are really interested in covering.
On one hand, there will be this really crazy, passionate people who love the game more than they love their loved ones. They will burn effigies of the ICC when they are refused to host a game in their city and they will shower you with rose petals when the cricketers display a beautiful game of cricket.
Then on the other side of the spectrum, an average viewer who might not really be interested in the whole dynamics of the game would be following the tournament for patriotic reasons. They will don the national colours, on their faces and hair as well. They will run around, screaming with joy when their team would advance to the next level of the game. And they will also burn effigies when the team would be kicked out of the tournament. Then, after four years, the same hoopla will be repeated once again.
But the bottom line is that everyone needs to see their country lift the cup. The few Irish cricket fans might be supporting http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 (it seems a trend now), but they really want to see their country shine in the tournament till the very end. They want to see their favourite player break records, smash an innings to reach a milestone. They want to see their bowlers reaching career-high figures.
Yet, it’s quite obvious that it’s not going to happen for most of them, unless anyone of them falls in the 1 billion margins. But one thing is for sure, the 49 matches will give something back to every cricket fan.
Then there are some things that all of us really want from the event. There must be something that happens to top our cricket wish-lists, something that you will cherish a life-time and carry it with you into the grave. It might be something recurring as well, so that one looks forward when he/she examines the World Cup schedule. You see once, and then you want to see it again and again.
The scribe would love to share its wishful thinking, you might want to come clean and declare what you “really” want to see this World Cup.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Bangladesh-c747 fails to pull off a surprise
It is like a wish upon a star. No, really, it has been happening regularly since they debuted in the 1999 World Cup. They managed to win against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 when they debuted and since then it is always assumed that they will repeat the same. It’s always the same. They pull off one spectacular performance and then *snap* the strong team is reduced to red, embarrassing faces. In the very next match they will be kicked out of the tournament, and the headlines would read: “The Bengali Tigers played above potential.”
The surprise in the tenth World Cup will be if the Tigers don’t really pull off a surprise. Everyone will be stunned, and the team will go into the next World Cup with no expectations. Maybe then they can repeat the surprise thing again. That will work, definitely.
England losing after surpassing 413 against Netherlands
Now this would be fun, exhilarating at its best. England will make and break records for the highest score during a World Cup. All the batsmen will reach their career-best scores, but the bowlers would fail and Netherlands will be hailed as the next best thing.
