England v Sri Lanka 2011 – http://www.senore.com/Cricket/James-Michael-Anderson-c65929 Buoyant after regaining ODI form
James Anderson, the leading fast bowler for England was overjoyed about his match winning performance in the first One Day International (ODI) match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
The first ODI of the five match series was organised at Kennington Oval, London, on June, 28th, 2011. England won the encounter by 110 runs, while Anderson broke the back of the Islander’s batting by grabbing four wickets for just 18 runs in five
overs.
His four-wicket haul included their three top order batsmen, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/KMDN-Kulasekara-c1802 (five runs).
The fast bowler was pleased with his performance, which was well supported by the other bowlers and stressed that was possible just because of his dedication towards the game. He expressed his views as:
"Happily the wickets came for me but I thought we bowled brilliantly as a unit. Whatever it was during the winter I put it behind me at start of the season with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lancashire-c806 and then in the Test series. I've worked really hard, there are a lot of improvements
I have to make on my one-day game and I've started on those things".
Anderson clinched more than three wickets previously against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 on November, 29th, 2009, at Port Elizabeth, where he sent five batsmen back to the pavilion.
He demonstrated a miserable performance in the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Cricket World Cup, 2011, where he claimed just four wickets at an average of 70.50 runs per wicket with the best of 2 for 16 runs.
The 28 year old was well aware of the performances given by him in the past but was gleeful to get back in top form again.
"I felt like I didn't perform to the standards I set myself. I was very disappointed and just glad to keep my place in the squad and get a place in the XI”.
Anderson has appeared in 143 ODIs and managed 194 wickets averaging 30.75 runs per wicket with the best of 5 for 23 runs.
He anticipates continuing with his accelerated form, which will set personal milestones for him, enabling http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 to quite a few victories this summer.
