The former England wicketkeeper, Jack Russell, has said that the window breaking incident during the Lord’s Test would not distract Matt Prior from his game, as England eye a 2-0 series win over http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758.
Russell reckoned the incident would not affect either the hosts or the player in the third and final Test of the three-match series, which the Poms currently lead, 1-0.
"I don't think a pane of glass will knock http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 off course”, said Russell while talking to the media reporters. “It definitely won't knock Matt Prior off course. Matt is too strong a character and the set-up is too sensible. He will just forget about it”,
he added further.
Prior, the South Africa-born, England wicketkeeper, broke a windowpane of the dressing room with a bat after he was run out for four in the second innings. Though, Prior later clarified that he had not thrown his bat in anger, rather he was putting his bat
in the shelf next to the window.
The incident did not cause http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Gordon-Muchall-c1499 damage but a spectator sitting below in the Lord’s pavilion got a minor cut on her ankle due to the falling glass.
"It was fortunate that no-one got (seriously) injured but we have all done worse than that", said http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Russell-c87177 insisting that he had a far worse temper than Prior. "We have all smashed our cricket case up or bashed our kit about", he added further.
He said that there have been some very calm and cool players in the side such as former England captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Graham-Alan-Gooch-c60530. However, he said that he himself had never been composed after losing his wicket.
"But when I was playing I was like a kettle boiling in that time between losing my wicket and getting to the dressing room”, said Russell.
Russell, a cricketer turned professional artist has recently unveiled his 'cric-art', at Lord's Cricket Ground in London. The painting measuring 6ft by 5ft and 5in was on a canvas of 36 full-size Slazenger bats and it will be auctioned off to raise funds
to educate children through cricket.
The third and final Test of the series kick-starts at http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rose-c86842 Bowl on Thursday, June 16.
