http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711, the English all-rounder, has warned Sri Lanka against the outstanding skills of his team ahead of the 2nd ODI that is due today, July 1 at Leeds. He has termed England to be a well-composed and well-prepared ODI side that is capable of winning
everywhere in the world.
After winning the 3-match Test series 1-0, the English lead the ongoing 5-match ODI series too. They beat the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 by 110 runs in the 1st ODI at Kennington Oval on June 28.
England’s ODI squad is being led by http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Eoin-Joseph-Gerard-Morgan-c56032, Jonathan
Trott, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705---all these are big names in the world of cricket.
Bresnan argues that the English will not let the Lankans to replicate the legacy of 2006 when the home team was consigned a nerve-shattering defeat at the same venue by the same tourists. At that time, England had seven new faces in their squad.
Bresnan said, “We got nailed in that series. But everyone has moved on a lot since then. We are a much better one-day unit.”
He further told, “Everyone has got a lot more confidence. We have not got seven debutants. As a unit we did not have a lot of belief (in 2006), whereas now we are quite confident.”
Commenting on his team’s playing strategy, he explained, “We have our plans, and everyone knows the role - rather than have seven new guys come into the team and wonder who is doing what, when and how."
Bresnan, who missed the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758, took 1 wicket and scored 23 with the hope of 4 boundaries in the 1st ODI game.
Bresnan hopes to perform well in today’s game as he has good record at North. He described, “It is just a massive shame. I enjoy playing cricket in the north of England - it is less of a commute too."
Appearing on international stage in 2006, the 26-year-old has 7 Tests, 43 ODIs and 16 T20Is to his credit.
