England batsman Kevin Pietersen has said that England were taken by surprise by some quality swing bowling at Perth.
Australia managed to make a strong come back in the Ashes series when they defeated England by a convincing margin in the third Ashes Test. It was a do or die situation for the Australian team and the way they fought back in the match is commendable.
Australia bowled exceptionally well in the Perth Test and did not give any breathing space to the English batsmen. For http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746, it was a complete professional effort from their bowlers as all of their bowlers bowled in the right areas to the English batsmen.
The factor that worked in Australia’s favour was the swing bowling of their bowlers. Almost all the Aussie bowlers swung the ball exceptionally well and made most out of the bowling conditions at Perth. The most important feature for the Aussies was the
comeback of their main strike bowler, Mitchell Johnson who made a remarkable comeback in the Ashes series and surprised everyone with his superb fast bowling. England never recovered from Johnson’s onslaught and lost their way after that.
Kevin Pietersen said that Mitchell Johnson bowled exceptionally well in the third Test and had a wonderful game of cricket. It is ironical to see that a person who was discarded after the first Test became Australia’s hero in the third Test. It shows determination
of Mitchell Johnson that after being discarded by the selectors he was still determined to make a comeback in the series.
Kevin Pietersen further said that England would prepare well for the swinging ball in the fourth Test. He also said that England knew it would swing in Perth but they didn’t have much idea that it will swing that much.
