England wicketkeeper Matt Prior unfazed by possible Shane Warne recall
England wicketkeeper Matt Prior has said that he is not vexed by the possibility of Shane Warne making a comeback despite calls from different quarters in Australia that Warne must be called back in the side to save the Ashes.
Speculation has been rife regarding the possible comeback of the world class leg spinner Shane Warne, who retired some four years ago.
Following the innings defeat against England, the worst in 24 years, calls have increased to bring the legendary leg spinner back from retirement. However, he has not given any answer as to whether he would actually make a comeback
for his side. In an article written for a local newspaper in England, he said that he was flattered, but at the same time mentioned that instead of asking him to return, the Kangaroos can select spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Michael-Beer-c1949 for Perth.
Warne, who took 708 wickets in 145 Tests has kept mum over making a return for his side, while the Australian selectors have also refused to break the silence. Matt Prior, however, said that speculation over the selection of Warne
or anyone else for that matter could not, in anyway, hamper their preparation as they train meticulously ahead of the third test in Perth. He said it does not matter if it is Warne or a vintage player from the yesteryears.
"If he's going to come back, great. If he's not, who knows? Whoever comes into the Australian team, we'll have to look at, process and work out how we're going to play them. Whether it be Shane Warne, Merv Hughes or anyone else,
we'll look at the video footage and respect them like we would any other cricketer,” Prior said.
Graeme Swann, on the other hand, said that the fact that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 were actually considering bringing Warne back from retirement only proves how desperate the Aussies are to find a winning formula against the Englishmen, who have
been in great form lately. It remains to be seen how the Australian’s plan to go about the third test, but it would require a herculean effort from their players to win back the Ashes where the Englishmen are by far the favourites to win the tournament.
