England will be a difficult team to beat, feels http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Wasim-Akram-c96292 – Cricket News Update
Legendary http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Pakistan-c755 fast bowler Wasim Akram has warned India against complacency in the four-match Test series against England, saying the latter are a formidable side with a good batting line-up and a fierce bowling attack.
England cricket team, under Alastair Cook, is currently touring India to play four Tests and two T20 Internationals against the hosts in the first leg of the itinerary. The Poms boast an unimpressive record in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 and India, at the latter’s backyard, the English side has won four and lost six, while the rest ended in draws.
England’s last Test series win in India had come in 1984-85. Since then the Three http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808 have lost three of the four bouts staged on the Indian soil. The last Test series played between the two outfits here, in 2008-09, was won by the hosts 1-0.
However, Akram has said that the Poms have a relatively balanced squad this time around and would be a difficult team to beat in the four-match Test series.
“After a long time this England team looks a formidable lot. So any predication that India will wipe them out 4-nil is being a little overambitious. While I am not willing to predict a scoreline, England will be a difficult team to beat and the visitors have already showed their intentions in the warm-up games in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820 and Ahmedabad,” said Akram in an interview with ESPNSTAR.
"England have a talented middle-order with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/JM-Anderson-c1705 give them the balance they need on Indian wickets," the legendary Pakistan seamer added further.
The four-match Test series between the two outfits got underway at the Sardar http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Huzefa-Mohammed-Patel-c63657 Stadium, Motera in Ahmedabad today, November 15, 2012, with the hosts opting to bat first on the dry Motera wicket. The second Test will be played in Mumbai (November 23 to 27), third at Eden Gardens, Kolkata (December 5 to 9) while the final five-dayer will be hosted by Nagpur from December 13 to 17.
