England will have to work hard to finish the match, feels Tim Bresnan – Cricket News Update
England’s fast bowler, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760 at Trent Bridge, but admitted that they cannot afford to be complacent in order to win the match.
The home team started the third day with 259 runs for the loss of two wickets. However, Darren Sammy and company bounced back in the match by grabbing some quick wickets and bundled out England for 428 runs, which meant that the Poms took a first innings
lead of 58 runs.
In their second innings, West Indian batting fell like a house of cards, and by stumps, they had lost six wickets for merely 61 runs on the board and were looking down the barrel.
Bresnan was the chief destroyer as he picked up three crucial wickets to have the visitors tottering.
The fast bowler admitted that his team should have taken a bigger lead in the first innings but believes that England made up for the loss by picking up some cheap wickets towards the end of play on day three.
Bresnan expressed, "It wasn't what we expected with the bat today, but we came back strong with the ball, certainly. We could have capitulated and been bowled out for less than them but me and Stuart put on a bit of a partnership, got a 50-odd run lead and
now they're six down which is pretty popular."
The all-rounder is of the opinion that the pitch is still suitable for batting and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 will have to work hard in order to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
"To get them 61 for six is a phenomenal effort on that wicket. We still have a lot of hard work to do but I'm backing us to knock the last four lads over without them getting too much of a lead," he added.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/DJG-Sammy-c1382 are still at the crease and pose a threat to the opposition as both of them scored hundreds in the first innings of the match. It remains to be seen if the Caribbean team can resist against England on the fourth day or not.
