Former Indian captain, Sourav Ganguly, during commentary on the third day of the first Test between India and England at Lord’s, said that the English bowlers will struggle to get 20 wickets in any match against India in the on-going series.
The two teams are currently up against each other in what is considered as one of the most awaited Test series of the recent times. India is currently at ranked as the number one team in Test cricket, whereas, England is at number three.
However, in case of a victory in the series against India, England will become the top team of the world and both the teams have a lot to lose in the series.
Former left handed batsman, who is now a professional commentator, gave these comments while the Indian openers, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abhinav-Mukund-c41758 were constructing a nice partnership between themselves before lunch on the third day. However, India lost
both the openers before lunch.
Ganguly expressed that he knew before the series that the English bowlers will struggle against the Indian team, which is considered as one of the best batting line-ups of the world.
The ‘Prince of Kolkata’ said that the English bowlers had a poor time against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the recently concluded Test series and the Islanders were able to post big scores on the board throughout the series, with an exception of the second innings of the
first Test at Cardiff.
He also claimed that India has a much stronger batting line-up as compared to the Sri Lankans and one should expect the world champions to pile up big scores during the series.
However, majority of the cricket analysts around the world have a different opinion as they feel that the Indian bowling attack is much weaker as compared to the English one. Even the Indian captain, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/MS-Dhoni-c2028 admitted before the series that the
home team has a better bowling attack.
The series has just started and only time will tell that Ganguly is right or not, but there is no doubt about the fact that both the teams are much stronger in the batting department.
