England’s Adam Duffy advises 2012 Q School entrants to stay focused on their goal – Snooker News
England’s Adam Duffy, 2011 Q School qualifier for professional circuit, has appreciated the launch of the second edition of the World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) and has advised the new comers and Q School entrants to stay focused on their goal
because this time the reward of qualifying out of Q School is great.
Last date of entries in the 2012 World Snooker Q School is March 23, 2012 and the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) chairman, Jason Ferguson has encouraged the young players to participate in the Q School with the best of their
skills. Many young snooker stars will test their luck in this year’s Q School tournament to win the two-year pro tour card.
The 22-year-old Duffy earned the pro tour ticket after reaching the semi-final stage of the 2011 World Snooker Q School Event 3. So far, he has participated in the qualifiers of all the major ranking snooker tournaments of 2011-12 Snooker Season and feels
that he will make it to the World Top 64 after showing his snooker genius in the qualifying session of the 2012 World Snooker Championship.
Meanwhile, he appreciated the launch of Q School’s second edition at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield. He believes the Q School gives a vital opportunity to the young snooker stars to polish their skills and place their name in the top potters of the
World. Keeping the goal in mind, Duffy advised the new comers of Q School to never lose their focus off their aim.
Speaking to World Snooker in an interview, Duffy said, “The playing conditions at Q School are exactly the same as you find on the pro circuit and it's a great experience in terms of preparing you for the main tour. It will be even better for those coming
through Q School next time because they are guaranteed a place for two years, which takes all the pressure off them in the first year.”
The Sheffield potter added, “My advice to anyone playing in Q School this year would be to stay focussed and don't let your head go down if you lose in the first event.”
The 2012 Q School Event 1 will commence in May right after the completion of the 2012 World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, Duffy’s home town.
