England’s Jimmy White believes he can win any snooker tournament: 2012 World Snooker Championship
Former six-time World Snooker Championship runner up, England’s Jimmy White will be heading to Beijing where he will be participating in the 2012 China Open snooker tournament commencing from March 26 at the Beijing University Students Gymnasium. The People’s
Champion is aiming to perform up to the mark in the tournament as he believes that he still can win any major snooker tournament.
The living legend reached the final encounter of six World Snooker Championship events but was not able to win any of them which really disheartened him but still the Englishman is hopeful to win a world title. The Whirlwind is aiming to hit the winning
spot and believes that he can win a major ranking snooker tournament anytime he wants.
Speaking to the local media about his ambition, White said, “I still can win any tournament and I'm in the top 48 so I only have to beat two players to get to the World Championship. I just still love playing and always have done so while I keep doing that
I'm just going to keep enjoying it. I will be there. I'm playing too well not to be there.”
The 49-year-old added, “After that, if I can keep it going, who knows. I'm giving it plenty of time on the practice table. We have a bit of fun but when we play he'll be trying to beat me, don't worry about that.”
White will be moving to the Civic Centre in Bedworth after the 2012 World Snooker Championship to participate in the 2012 Snooker Legends Cup where he will be teaming up with the former three-time World Snooker Champion, compatriot Ronnie O’Sullivan.
White spoke about O’Sullivan, “It's phenomenal. We've had some great fun. He does lots of exhibitions with me and really enjoys it.”
Currently White is placed in the wild card round of the 2012 China Open snooker tournament where he will face Syria’s Syria Omar Alkojah to set up potential first round clash with the defending champion, England’s Judd Trump. White will be looking forward
to hit the winning spot in the tournament so that he can make a strong come back into the game.
