snooker events, the potters only wait for the World Snooker Championship so that they can play at the Crucible Theatre.
Like many other potters in the world, England’s Joe Perry has also a dream of playing at the Crucible to fulfil his desire. The Englishman has had a convincing snooker season this year and believes he can make his way into the 2012 World Snooker Championship
after he ousts Scotland’s Jamie Burnett in the final encounter of the tournament’s qualifying session.
The 2012 World Snooker Championship qualifying session has entered into the final round where the ultimate battle to book a spot in the Last 32 line up will begin. Many renowned cuemen have surged into the televised stages of the event while the rest are
waiting for their chance to earn a place at the Crucible including the English potter Perry.
Speaking to the local reporters, Perry said, “It’s hard to put into words what it’s like to play there. It can be the best place in the world and it can be the worst place in the world. I’ve played there when I’ve felt like there’s nobody in the crowd because
I’ve been so focused.”
He added, “Other times, you can sit there and think everyone is looking and laughing at you. Obviously they aren’t, but that’s the power of your mind in that situation. I have different expectations and aspirations when I go there now, but I still get the
same buzz.”
The top 16 are ready to take on any challenger in the initial round of the Championship with all their might. On the other hands, the qualifiers are also set to prove their talent to the world and improve their rankings as well as cash this opportunity to
clinch the Championship. It will be interesting to see how Perry manages to build up some confidence in is his play and gain some much needed momentum.
