England’s Matt Prior looking to justify his opening role in team - ICC World Cup 2011 Update
The English wicket-keeper, Matt Prior has no answer to justify his poor performance in the ongoing ICC World Cup 2011, although he has the potential to play better cricket. England can open their innings with Matt Prior along-side captain Andrew Strauss.

Prior is looking forward to rectify his mistakes and stay at the opening position. However, the two men who are expected to replace Prior for England’s upcoming quarter-final against Sri Lanka are Ravi Bopara or Ian Bell.
Prior stated, “I have belief in my ability and we're now in a quarter-final and to me that's very exciting. If I do open I have got an opportunity to play an innings that puts us into the semi-final of the World Cup.”
Prior is aware of the possibility that he might be moved down the batting order and the team can try to improve their performance in the knock-out stage of the tournament. Prior said that although the England team has not performed well in the World Cup,
but the team still has potential and determination to compete in the mega event. He added that if the team works hard and tries to play the game with all their effort, then they can beat any challenging opponent and can give them tough time.
He said, “So if we do come out and play well as a team and get all our three disciplines right we're going to be very hard to beat and a very, very strong force.”
