England’s Shaun Murphy advises young potters to practice hard for World Snooker Q School
World Snooker has announced the deadline for the entries of Q School which is March 23, 2012.
The first event of Q School will commence in the second week of coming May, right after the finish of the 2012 World Snooker Championship. The former World Snooker Champion, England’s Shaun Murphy has advised the young snooker players to work as hard as
they can and practice well to get the professional tour berth.
The World Snooker Qualifying School (Q School) will be starting once again at the World Snooker Academy in Sheffield where young potters from around the world will participate to earn a spot in the professional tour of 2012-13 and 2013-14 Snooker Seasons.
The World Professional Billiard and Snooker Association (WPBSA) will launch 2012 Q School in three events which will feature 12 Tour Card holders like last year.
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Murphy is quite excited for Q School’s return and wishes luck to the young potters advising them to practice harder. The Magician also expressed that it would have been better if events like Q School were commenced at the time
he started playing snooker so that he could have got more opportunities.
Speaking to the World Snooker, Murphy said, “I wish it had been like this when I started out. The young players now have so many opportunities with PTC events and Q School, and there is a real buzz about the game now. Our Q School will be played at a great
venue with tournament-standard tables.”
The former World Champ added, “My advice to anyone entering Q School would be to practise as hard as you can - when you think you've done enough, do some more. Then when you get to the event, play with a smile on your face and enjoy it. The ones who are
most relaxed will be the ones who get through.”
The registration charges for entering all three events of Q School are £1,000. The World Snooker has stated that the players must go through the terms and conditions before registering in the event. These terms and conditions can be found on their site.
The Q School pro tour qualifiers will be give a two-year Tour Card that will enable them to participate in the qualifiers of professional events for the next two seasons.
