England’s Stuart Bingham believes he can oust Judd Trump in 2012 Masters
World Number 14 ranked cueist, England’s Stuart Bingham was outstanding in the 2011 Australian Goldfields Open at Victoria City. He clinched his first ranking title after beating Welshman, Mark Williams, in the final of Australian tournament. After securing
his first ever ranking title win, Bingham placed his name into the list of top snooker players.
The Basildon potter is now looking forward to make a strong appearance in the upcoming 2012 Master snooker tournament, one of the Triple Crowns after World Snooker Championship and the UK Championship. He will be meeting the 2011 UK Championship winner,
Judd Trump, in the initial round of the tournament. Bingham feels that Trump is a strong player but he can beat him.
Speaking to British Broadcasting Corporation about his goal at the Masters, Bingham said, “I played him in the Shanghai Masters last year and beat him 5-1. Judd's a class act, full of confidence after his UK win in December so it's going to be tough, but
if I can play like I know I can then I can beat him.”
With impressive performances in the current season, Bingham finally surged into the top-16 of the world. After winning the 2011 Australian Goldfields Open, the Ball-run went down in terms of his snooker form and he was not able to clinch a noticeable title
but with some convincing snooker display in minor ranking events, the Englishman managed to stay in the top-16.
The Binginator spoke about his position in the top-16 and added, “It's nice to be in the elite finally and it does make it more special knowing I'm there because I'm in the top 16. You always wish that you're going to get there one day and it has taken me
ages, but maybe now I'm a better player because of it.”
The 35-year-old added that he has seen many potters flying past him, going up in the rankings and then coming back down. He said that has learnt his craft and is hopeful to stay in the top-16 for a few years. The Basildon cueman is eyeing to book a spot
in the top eight after putting up an impressive show at Alexandra Palace.
