England’s Tom Briscoe confident for clash against New Zealand – Gillette Four Nations
While addressing the pre-match press conference on Thursday, November 10, Tom Briscoe reckons that England has it all what takes to whitewash the Kiwis in the eliminator of Gillette Four Nations on Saturday, November 12.
The winners of the weekend’s game will lock their horns in the title decider of Four Nations next week against the series favourites, Kangaroos. This is the reason behind the importance of the Saturday’s game, because either side is striving for booking
its berth in the final showdown against Roos.
Briscoe is the youngest player on England’s side and is expected to feature in Saturday’s game alongside Kirk Yeaman, who is a star-quality player with commendable constellation of feats under his belt.
Expressing his views about the sudden-death encounter of Gillette Four Nations Campaign, Briscoe stated, “Me and Kirk have done pretty well between the two of us with what ball we've had and it would be nice to get a bit more, especially with it being at
the KC. We're looking forward towards the World Cup and beyond. With us being so young, we can build up a strong back there and be the best in the world. That's the aim at the end of the day.”
Yeamen is yet to inaugurate his tries during the running tournament, which is one of the reasons why the player is looking forward to be part of the forthcoming game of the campaign. The back line within the English line will feature Briscoe, Ryan Hall and
Sam Tomkins, who are all well-known for their on-field brilliance.
While recalling their last Saturday’s 20-36 loss against Kangaroos, the player admitted that his side has the potential to even out Australia’s lead by winning Four Nations’ title decider at Elland Road, which is only possible if they win against Kiwis this
Saturday.
The 21-year-old shared that it is possible if they take along the confidence his side was beaming during the double header of  last weekend, which was definitely huge, as through their fierce struggle they managed to close in the gap, which otherwise could
not be possible. Also, they did not crumble against the obvious stronger side, which speaks a great deal about English side’s potential.
