England’s Under-18 Teams flying on high impetus
The Boys' and Girls' Under-18 teams of England are in good forms and displayed impressive performances against the Scottish squads. The game between the Scottish and English boys ended with a 3-3 draw, while the girls of Scotland lost the game by a single
goal difference. The hardly fought games were played at the Lilleshall National Sports Centre in Shropshire, England.
Scotland U-18 Boys versus England U-18 Boys
After losing a game by four goals, the Scottish boys improved their game and managed a draw at 3-3. With a victory in hand, the boys of England started the game quite slowly and gradually paced up. With minutes in the game, David Patterson scored first goal
of the day to put Scotland, ahead on the score-board. He was the same who notched a solitary goal in the first match.
After an end-to-end twenty minutes of play, the English side succeeded to level the score. Sam French, while dodging James Spain, played a hit absolutely in the Scottish goal-post and had it all even at 1-1. It was the only offence from the two sides in
the first half of play.
The pace of the game further enhanced in the second half and plenty of attacks were carried out from the two sides. Corey Hastings scored a goal for Scotland in the 37th minute of the game. But David Goodfield through a well-placed flicking shot
levelled the score at 2-2. In the very next minute, Jonny Roy scored a goal and regained a single goal lead for Scottish side. Scotland found a lucky chance to win the game, but it was missed in the 51st minute when Harry Gibson made a fine save
on a penalty-stroke. Luke Taylor in the 56th minute nailed a goal to make the score equal. The results remained same in the remaining time period and ended the game at 3-all.
Scotland U-18 Girls versus England U-18 Girls
The Under-18 English Girls’ team made two wins in a row, as it powered a 3-2 win over Scotland in the second match played at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall. The English girls were very aggressive onto the field and scored three goals against the
two of their competitors.
Kiki Lawal, the Scottish player, scored first goal of the game in the 20th minute of the game. Interestingly, they managed the lead in the first half and kept England off the score-board throughout the 35 minutes.
In the second half, the English side revved it up and ruined the defence line of Scotland. Grace Balsdon marked the first goal for her team in the 46th minute and levelled the results at 1-1. With four minutes left, Emily Defroand scored a goal
and established their first dominance in the game.
In the 62nd minute of the game, Sarah Robertson scored a tying goal to make the game more interesting. However, the English girls were on a high momentum. Rebecca Weston added third goal into the tally for England in the 67th minute.
The resilient defence kept Scotland off the scoreboard in the remaining time period and won the game by 3-2.
