England’s coach Andy Flower delighted with Jonny Bairstow’s debut – News Update

The youngster scored an unbeaten 41 runs off just 21 balls at a very crucial stage of the innings, guiding England to a solid victory. This also helped the hosts complete a clean sweep over the Indian team, which failed to win even a single game on the tour.
The Men in Blue lost the four-match Test series by 0-4 followed by a defeat in the lone Twenty20 of the series.
They performed better in the One Day Internationals (ODIs), but were still unable to win a match, losing the series by 0-3. The first game was washed out by rain and the fourth one ended in a tie.
However, Bairstow was only given one chance in the entire series and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. The youngster displayed very good technique and proved his reputation of being a mighty hitter of the cricket ball.
According to Flower, “He (Bairstow) threw himself around in the field in a manner which suggested that he was up for the battle and that he was willing to put himself on the line. He batted with amazing composure. I can’t remember a debut like that”
The Zimbabwean further added, “I liked the blend of boundary-hitting, very clean, very impressive boundary-hitting with the times when the ball wasn’t in the right slot and he knocked a beautiful one or two.”
The solid batting performance earned Bairstow the player of the match award. He was extremely pleased by that and stated that it was a dream come true for him.
Apart from being impressed by the 21-year-old’s batting performance, Flower was quite pleased with the way the youngster spoke humbly at the post match presentation.

However, the Poms will be confident of a good show on the Asian soil after laying extremely professional cricket for the past couple of months.
