England’s main attack leaves for Brisbane ahead of final tour game against Australia A
The first choice bowling armoury of England will leave for Brisbane, the venue of the opening Ashes encounter, early to prepare for the first Test of five-match Ashes series.
England has confirmed today that the four main attack bowlers including James Anderson, Steven Finn, Stuart Broad and the sensational right-arm off-spinner Graeme Swann - will not make the squad for the final tour game against Australia A in Hobart. The bowlers would rather head to http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Queensland-c834 on Wednesday, the day England starts its final warm-up match, to get acclimatised with the tropical climate of Brisbane ahead of the Ashes opener.
Up till now, England has played two tour matches against Western Australia and http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Western-Australia-c865 while Anderson allayed any concerns about his rib injury by finishing the second tour game with match figures of 5 for 85. Their successful performances in these games and the workload ahead has forced the management to allow them to miss the final tour game and practice extra days in the hot and humid climate of Brisbane.
Though Swann was the most convincing bowler with a 4-wicket haul in both the games, the quicks also managed neat 5-wicket hauls in each of the two matches with Finn being the least convincing pacer racking a total of 5 for 183 in both practice matches. The management must be concerned about Finn who, with an experience of just eight Tests in his account, is still quite new to international cricket.
England has got a tight Ashes schedule of five Tests in six weeks so there are chances that the side may need to pitch in its reserve pacers at some point. After the first-choice attack has been released, back-up players of tourists will get a chance to show their mettle against Australia A. Tim Bresnan, Chris Tremlett, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ajmal-Shahzad-c42489 will constitute the bowling department of England in the absence of main attack.
Eoin Morgan is also expected to make his first outing of the Ashes tour most likely at the expense of all-rounder Paul Collingwood who had struck 94 off 116 last week against South Australia.
