In 1872 Queen Victoria knighted David Sassoons son Edward Albert Sassoon, who spread the illeagal opium trade through China and Japan. In 1887 Edward sassoon married Aline Caroline Rothschild, and so joined the pirated fortunes of the Sassoon drug cartel to the Rothschild money cartel.
