Question:

English Chip Shop Sausages?

When I used to live in England I'd go to my local chip shop and get something called "jumbo sausages." It's a deep fried sausage that has a very distinct taste. They served this all over the place I lived, which was the Manchester area.

I now live in the US, and I haven't been able to find anything that tastes similar to it. They have breakfast sausage here, which has sage and other herbs in it, but they taste nothing like the sausages I had in England.

Anyone know any good recipes, or what they're called? Or even if I can buy them here?

  1. Sound like a savaloy!

  2. In Manchester you could have been a Cumberland or other local ones, even an "English Banger", here in Canada we have several UK style butchers.

I can give you a website that sells British food and have sausage that you might like to try, there out of California.
