I'm writing an essay for AP English, and I forgot something. I know that when you are writing a title to a paper, you capitalize everything except for words like "of," "in," etc., but I forget, do you capitalize "a" in a title? Like would it be "Not Just A Simple Story" or "Not Just a Simple Story"? Please help!!! Thanks! :D

  1. Yes you capitalize the A in a title depending where it falls...

    Going for a Walk

    A Short Story

  2. really you can do either, but lowercase is the general rule of thumb

  3. In that case yes.

  4. I wouldn't use the capital for the "a".

  5. I believe you do capitalize the letter "A" in a title.

  6. All letters in a story should follow native format..

for example if the title is "The Killer and the Dove" it would be like that..

but if the author titled it "The Killer And The Dove" then it would be like that.. in your case it would be "Not Just a Simple Story"

  7. you don't capitalize the A in the title

  8. Generally no.

Sometimes, but rarely, a writer may do so for emphasis, though it is likely to be missed.

  9. It wouldn't matter at all, really.

I wouldn't just because its one letter..
