English Family - H1B Visa Status - Your Help Is Invaluable?

I'm English, 42 and have been a salesman for 12 years. However, I am currently aiming to continue my career in the US to sell software, or hardware . I am undergoing training that will qualify me as a Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician. I believe this will provide me with an important 'spring-board', to boost my career. During January, twenty interviews have been lined up, within the New York and Boston area. I hope several of these companies will then issue a H1B petition. During my career, every year I have always exceeded targets, one of which will be $1,000,000. I have sold for many companies and am dedicated to provide a stable future for my family. Please check whether there are any flaws within our situation, and I am obliged to provide any further details you wish. Your help is invaluable.

  1. You are begging.

In the wrong section, as well.

Why not ask the guys in "Community Service"

  2. The major flaw is the recession here and the other is competition for H1b visas. Many applicants have more qualifications than you and America is very certificate orientated. I'm sure you can sell yourself though. You don't get your degree until 2009, as soon as you get it have it evaluated for its American equivalency as employers here will value that more than your degree. Your transcripts matter more here as well, employers here have been known to ask for them 30 or more years after graduation.

Remember your brother could sponsor you as well but that would take longer and you would have no guarantee of a job when you moved.

There is a website called British Expats, look it up as you may find useful information there.

    Good Luck

  3. I really don't see what your problem is! You have a brother here in the USA and a Citizen! He can sponsor you to come here! Unless, of course, the USA has suddenly started a quota again on immigrants! I am assuming you want to stay here permanently, seeing as you want to work here - right!?  As a skilled worker, I don't see why you should become a burden on the Government! Unlike these illegal aliens floating around the country, and Welfare handing out food stamps! I came over to marry an American, and he had to sign papers that I would never become a ward of the State! I've only been here 53 years!! Tra la!!! The IMS is letting all these foreign doctor's in, so why not you!? Personally, I would rather have YOU, cos you already speak English, and have legitimate relatives living here!!!  That to me is a BIG PLUS!!!
