English First: Why is Senator Obama Ashamed of Our American Language?

English First Executive Director Jim Boulet, Jr., today called upon Senator Barack Obama to reconsider his anti-English statements.

Senator Obama has voted against official English four times in 2006 and 2007 and earned an "F" rating for English First in 2006.

"Senator Obama, there are plenty of languages spoken in America. What makes Spanish so special, instead of, say, Chinese or Arabic," said Jim Boulet, Jr., Executive Director of English First.

Why does a country HAVE to have an official language? We know we are a nation that predominately speaks English. Why do we need to vote FOR it? We've done okay without it this long. It's not a pressing issue like gas costs or the war. Why does anyone even give a c**p about something so d**n trivial? We should be focusing on the issues, not the stupid, lame duck c**p that really, in the grand scheme of things, affects nobody.

It all comes down to a bunch of disrespectful lazy people who don't want to learn English.  Guess assimilation is too much to ask.

No habla espanol and never will unless I decide to travel to mexico, and judging by the increasing racism down in Mexico, that will be no time soon.

Obama is ashamed of our language, ashamed of his white heritage, ashamed of our freedom to bear arms, ashamed of our religious freedoms, ashamed of our country in general. Why on earth does he want to lead it? Wouldn't it be easier to just move to a socialist country instead of trying to turn the US into one?

Because we love bending our assed backwards for people who don't bother with the english laungage and we're making it easier for them to NOT learn it.

Arabs learn english before they come here.

Chinese learn english before they come here.

Nigerians learn english before they come here.

So why can't some of these spanish speaking people learn english for christ's sake!

even if english were made the "official" language of the U.S. there are businesses that will still cater to spanish speaking customers because that is where the money is... so it makes no difference, just let it go and go with the flow... cause money always talks...

there are even many spanish speaking TV channels that keep growing and growing every year because of the increasing latino population, not to mention movie stars, singers, and even in our government...
