I realllllllllllllllllly wanna get A/A* for my english GCSE (i got 3 marks of an A* i my mocks) but last year i had an awful teacher who marked EVERYONE down on their coursework!

Unfortunatley, we did most of our coursework last year

and i got B/B-'s in all of them, we did two this year and i got one A and one A*

do you think i have much chance of getting an A/A* in my GCSE if i got mostly B's in my coursework? =(

thanks in advance!!

  1. erm

well when the exam board asked for about three pieces of coursework from your class to moderate them if they thought something was wrong they would have altered the whole classes c/w accordingly

also all the teachers from your english department at school have to get together and moderate them together to make sure each pupil has the correct grade

sorry maybe you are over estimating your work

  2. I am not sure but my teacher is always saying how the coursework isn't as important as the exams. I think the coursework is only worth 25% but I am not sure. If you failed it you wouldn't get an A* because 25% is a lot when you think of the boundaries but you did quite well on it so I would have thought you were still in with a chance. Also you can redo coursework so if you were really worried you could do that. (Give it to a fair teacher though!) I hate it when teachers are like that! She must have marked you down if you went from B- in her class to A* in a proper teachers class. Good luck whatever you decide and sorry I couldn't be more help!
