English Homework help??

Question

Hi our eight grade teacher always gives us vocab words for the week.

I don't Get this one: RENOUNCED verb. meaning to deny, give up, quit.

We are supposed to give a synonym/definition/explanation I got that part. Up there ^

But we are also supposed to give an Example/Image/Showing sentence, that shows what it means. What image can I use to show the meaning, something easy to draw.

Any ideas?? Thanks in advance

ex: Julie renouned her diet

probably a stick figure with a big belly eating or just picture of food

lol

renounced-how about just a picture of a hand in a "stop" position.  Just draw an arm straight out with the hand in a "stop" position. or a picutre of person from shoulders up-the shoulders are facing straight but the face is turned to the left with eyes closed as if turning away from something.  Or just a picture of a face with the eyes closed and serious mouth-not smiling.

renounced==Disown,deny,give  up, relinquishment

ex. as in to cast off or disown a son.

The  old man was disappointed in his youngest son's

behaivor.He loudly renounced his son.

You could draw a man standing behind a desk  with his

back turned to the son. In the man's hands could be a

copy of a will torn in half. One-half in each of the father's

hands.
