that's a pretty big assumption. depending on who it is i guess, but yes you're right

Assumed is correct, but your structure could be better. Try "I ordered dinner for us as I assumed you were free this afternoon" or "Assuming you were free this afternoon, I ordered dinner for us". Hope this helps.
