English Premier League, James Vaughan set to make a return for Everton
Everton striker James Vaughan is all set to make his comeback to the premier league, after spending a successful three month loan term with first tier side Crystal Palace.
The twenty-two year old made over 14 appearances with the championship side, where he managed to score five goals. This also included his first ever hat-trick against Portsmouth, just at the start of the season.
However, the player was seen limping off in his last match against Hull City, which was a goalless draw and was also sent off in his loan term. Yet, the player had a successful term with the Eagles, and manager George Burley claimed that his services would be greatly missed.
It is good news for manager David Moyes, who is not impressed with the current lot of the strikers in the outfit, owing to their inability to find the net regularly. He stated, "James Vaughan is going to be badly missed. We were trying to bring in a striker before the deadline last month but we weren't able to do that. There is a chance we could bring him back in January but that's between the clubs and James himself. I've had a chat with him”.
Vaughan would want to score a few goals when he returns to Goodison Park, this weekend and would love nothing more than to establish himself as a regular at the outfit. However, things are always different in the premier league and the player would have to work very hard to get a place in the starting XI.
The player, who is a product of Everton Youth academy, has made over 46 appearances for the Merseyside club. Vaughan would want to work very hard to convince his manager, to try him for the premier league challenge.
The upcoming clash will be against Manchester City and Moyes can use Vaughan as a substitute. He will keep his fingers crossed over him and hope that this young gun finally puts an end to the misfiring strikers at Goodison Park.
