English Premier League: A Dozen Facts and Figures in EPL till the 6th week (Part 4)
7. 26 - The new team on the rise is Blackpool and they are on the run when they weren’t even considered good enough for a number on the list of dark horses.
They started their campaign with an amazing win in which they obliterated their opponents by a massive lead and continued this pattern.
They have just been promoted from the Championship under controversial situations as they finished at the 6thposition but were promoted via play offs.
The main reason why the Tangerines have been performing so brilliantly is the chemistry between them. Moreover, the fact that they have an awesome home recorded.
This season Blackpool has been performing brilliantly in the English Premier League and have already struck good performances all around, but the impressive thing about them has been their level of maturity.
Though they lost their last match to Blackburn Rovers 1-2, they performed brilliantly in the match. Now they have to encounter Liverpool in their next match and that would be a real test for them.
They have now scored in astonishing 26 successive matches at Bloomfield Road and therefore a home record seems to be developing for a long prosperous home campaign.
8. 12 - Birmingham City is another team that has impressed this season. They have stunned other teams from the English Premier League. They currently are at the 13th position, acquiring 7 points from
6 matches. Despite what the score has shown on paper the plays made on field have relayed the impression that Birmingham possesses the quality and zeal to progress even further.
Though they drew their last match at 0-0 against a mediocre team (Wigan Athletic), this does not suggest they don’t possess offensive qualities. For instance they have just added players like Aleksandr Hleb and Nikola Zigic to
their squad.
They have barely featured in games so far and would need some time to gel together, but once they do they are sure to dominate.
The defence of Birmingham City is also very impressive. With the strengths of Liam Ridgewell and Scott Dann the team has improved their impregnable abilities over time.
So much that Birmingham City has not been defeated at their home since the last 12 months. This does show the kind of support the club is mustering.
Birmingham City’s president Carson Yeung and chairman Vico h*i have just allotted more players for the club and therefore it is expected that the club will make much more signings in the future therefore increasing their tank of
talent.

12 months of Invincibleness at home. This suggests that the club is looking forward to yet another good campaign.
