EPL News: Barrera eyes a win against Liverpool as Boateng admits tough start to City career
Pablo Barrera, West Ham’s Mexican winger is set to unleash himself against Liverpool at the weekend. Pablo made his move to the English league in the summer after having a fantastic world cup for Mexico in South Africa. Barrera spoke about the match as he
said, "It will be a very difficult match, but we need to start winning. The team is playing well despite being frustrated by the results in the recent matches. We have a great chance to get something from Liverpool."
Liverpool who will be without their talismanic midfielder Steven Gerrard for the match lost their last league encounter to Stoke City by two goals to nil, before that they drew against Wigan Athletic. Pablo Barrera went onto say, "Against Blackpool, we should
have won the match. In general the team played very well. We created a lot of chances, but we didn't score. We just need to keep working to come out from this period, because I believe that we've got quality in the squad to do it. Of course mentally we are
not in our best moment because we have not been winning. However, the team is playing well, so we just need a little bit extra to turn draws into wins."
Barrera has found it difficult to adapt to the English Premier League, the 23 year old winger remarked on his experience in English football thus far as he said, "Step by step I am getting used to English football. The Premier League requires players to
have a very good physical condition, but that's something that I will reach by working hard. I am feeling better match after match. I came here to do things well and to help the team, so that's something I am really focused on. It is beautiful to have a chance
to play in the best league in the world and for a club like West Ham."
On the other hand, Jerome Boateng, the German national team right back has also had a tough start to his career in English football with Manchester City. City bought the young defender in the summer transfer window. Boateng spoke to the press about City’s
recent form and his time at the club thus far as he said, "For every player it is disappointing when you come to a new club and are injured for six or seven games. You look forward but you can't play and other people are coming in. It was frustrating. But
now I am happy to be in my normal rhythm of playing every three days."
Jerome went onto say, "The Premier League is quicker and harder. You must run forward and back all the time. It is tough. But it is good. I made the decision to come to Manchester City and I am happy with it. I hope I can play a few more games but I don't
feel there is any particular pressure on me to perform."
