English Premier League: Carlo Ancelotti believes http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 are still in the title race
Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti believes his side are still in the title race despite his side drawing 3-3 with Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge on January 2. The Blues only got one point when they needed all three to remain in the
top four of the Premier League table. Since their slump, Ancelotti’s side have only managed 10 points out of a possible 30, which has seen them slip down to fifth place in the Premier League table.
However, Ancelotti remains confident that the title race is still very open and that his side still has a chance of winning it.
“It's not over because we are improving and I think that we can say something again this season,” said Ancelotti. “First, they have to win. Second, I think that the gap is not a light gap at this moment. But everything is open
again.”
For that to happen, Chelsea will have to defeat first place Manchester United in March. They are currently nine points behind the league leaders. “Obviously, we have to beat them here,” said Ancelotti of the March fixture, “And
we can say something again about the title.”
The disappointing result against Aston Villa came after a difficult 1-0 win over Bolton, which had given Ancelotti hope that his side would return to winning ways. The only positive to be taken from the game against Aston Villa
was the fact that the Blues had managed to score three goals and avoided defeat despite the visitors outplaying them for the larger part of the game. On the other hand, their defence was pathetic.

“Defensively we lost something,” said Ancelotti. “Obviously I just want to say that Bruma played very well but we are without Alex and Ivanovic - we lost some energy on the high ball.”
Both sides went into halftime with a goal each, but when the game resumed it took Villa only a few minutes to take the lead. The Blues responded with amazing energy and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Didier-Drogba-c11044 levelled the score. It was Terry who scored
what seemed to be the winning goal towards the 90-minute mark; however, a lack of concentration led them to concede a very soft goal from Aston Villa youngster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ciaran-Clark-c9247.
“I think that we had a fantastic reaction second half, we played very well, with a lot of energy, with a good spirit,” said Ancelotti. “And when we thought that the game was won, we lost two points at the last situation. For this
reason, I'm disappointed because at this moment, when we needed to win, it was our fault because I think we were not able to maintain concentration until the end.”
