Carlo Ancelotti urges Chelsea to improve
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 manager Carlo Ancelotti admitted that his side had not yet overcome the poor form they had been in recently, despite their impressive 7-0 win over Ipswich Town in the third round of the FA Cup. The Chelsea stars who seemed to have trouble finding
the back of the net returned to their former selves during the FA Cup fixture as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Salomon-Kalou-c32266 also grabbed a goal each.
The win came at a much needed time; the Blues had managed a measly 10 points out of a possible 33 in the English Premier League and had slipped to fifth place in the Premier League table. A nine point difference between Carlo Ancelotti’s side and league
leaders Manchester United successfully rules them out of the title race; however, the Italian manager remained positive. He said the progression to the fourth round of the FA Cup was just the lift the London side needed to improve their form.
Ancelotti revealed he was pleased with the win but urged his side not to get carried away, he said, “The result was good and we did a lot of things well in this game - the performance of the team, the strikers scoring again. We don't have to be excited.
But, obviously, with this victory, our confidence will improve. We have to wait to say everything is okay. It's very nice, obviously, to hear the fans like that. We all have to be close, and the fans showed fantastic support today.”
Chelsea reportedly interested in AC Milan’s Pato
Carlo Ancelotti seems to have resumed his interest in Alexander Pato, the AC Milan striker. The former AC Milan boss is reportedly trying his best to secure a move of the Milan forward to Stamford Bridge. According to local sources Ancelotti is in the process
of launching a bid for the player he coached during his time at San Siro. The Italian manager has reportedly also been in contact with the Milan managing director Adriano Galliani and has revealed to him how he wants the striker during the January transfer
window. However, Pato’s contract with the Italian giants expires at the end of 2014 and is valued at over €30 million, a price Blues owner Roman Abramovich might not be willing to pay.
Chelsea’s hunt for a defender
Chelsea are also in the market for defenders, with a desperate need to strengthen their back four. Along with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Micah-Richards-c25259 has emerged as a possible target for the Blues. A statement by the player saying he was looking
for a move away from the Eastlands because of lack of first team football only fuels rumours of the player ending up at Stamford Bridge in the near future. He is priced at around £20 million; a price if paid could see him leaving City even though City manager
Roberto http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mancini-c23323 claimed the player was a part of the club in the upcoming future. Currently, Chelsea do not have enough experienced replacements for key players, especially defenders, in the case of injuries or suspensions and would love to have someone like
Micah Richards come in during the January transfer window.
