English Premier League: Chelsea versus Bolton - minute by minute update (Part 1)
Chelsea started the match as the brighter of the two sides as Carlo Ancelotti’s men gained possession early on in the match on the half way line. However, they failed to keep control of the ball for long as in the 2nd minute
of the match they lost it to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Martin-Petrov-c24428 in the centre of the field, but the Bulgarian went onto lose the ball himself as Chelsea regained possession.
In the 3rd minute of the match, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 hoofed the ball up field, but Bolton’s defence headed the ball away as Chelsea’s attacking threat was foiled for the first time in the match. In the 4th minute of the
encounter, it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 who passed the ball to Essien. The Ghanaian midfielder found
himself in space inside the Bolton half of the field and tried his luck on goal, but his shot was way off target, as the referee gave Bolton their first goal kick of the match.
Chelsea quickly regained possession as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ashley-Cole-c6809 was released in space in the 5th minute
of the match, but he was quickly closed down by Bolton’s defence as Chelsea lost possession once again.
In the 6th minute of the first half, Bolton once again tried their luck with a long ball towards Davies but the ball was headed away by Ivanovic yet again. In the 7th minute, the ball was played up to Elmander,
who was caught in an offside position, as he received the ball thus, Chelsea were awarded the free kick. In the 8th minute of the match, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ramires-c30523 was penalized by the referee as the official pointed towards a free kick for Bolton on the half way
mark. However, the free kick was a wasteful one for the Wanderers as the ball went straight out of play from the set piece.
In the 9th minute of the match, Bolton attacked once again through Rodrigo down the right hand side of the Chelsea defence. However, the winger’s pass to Johan Elmander was just too strongly hit as John Terry intercepted
to eliminate the danger.
