English Premier League: City the talent destroyer and other rumours
A lot is being said about Jordan Henderson. The boy is talented without a doubt but to say he is the best player in England is way of the mark. Somebody needs to remind Steve Bruce that he is no Mourinho (who used to call his players best in the world) and
more importantly, he is not managing Chelsea.
However, if anyone has taken notice of what Steve Bruce has said then it was Fabio Capello. He has called the Sunderland player to the England squad for their upcoming friendly against France. This in turn had to result in Manchester City being linked with
the boy.
Daily Mirror has speculated that both the Manchester clubs are ready to enter into a bidding war for the young Englishman and it could be January when we can see Henderson warming the bench alongside Adam Johnson at Eastlands.
Andy Carroll has been a revelation this season and his performances have caught the attention of Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. We know he loves to party but doesn’t mind scoring goals either, so we don’t really see a problem
in that. We’ll have him in our team. Will play together and then party together. We might also get a chance to meet Cheryl Cole as well (he has been praising her fellow Geordie recently).
Harry Redknapp does not think twice before voicing his opinion on anything really. He has openly praised the Newcastle man and believes that he will give his side a new spark. A £10m + Robbie Keane might be enough for Newcastle to part ways with their star
man.
Liverpool fans are so desperate that in reaction to recent comments made by Nicklas Bendtner that he may leave Arsenal, they have started discussing about the possibility of luring the outspoken Danish to Anfield.
In an interview which would hardly bring a tear to any Arsenal fan, he said, “If the situation doesn’t improve – If I keep sitting on the bench at Arsenal – I must leave”. The self acclaimed genius needs to improve before he can claim to be a regular starter
at the Emirates.
John Terry and Rio Ferdinand are quickly becoming liabilities for their respective clubs. This has been noticed by their managers and now both clubs are being linked with £18m rated Porto’s defender Rolondo. And how can we forget Manchester City, especially
when big money is involved. They are also, as always, being linked with the ‘highly rated’ centre back. Apparently, Rolondo is crucial to both his club and country Brazil.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have shown intent to sign Ibrahim Afellay, who would probably end up at Barcelona. They are also targeting Keisuke Honda, who is now thinking that it might be step down if he was to move to Liverpool from CSKA Moscow. No one seems to
come and play for Liverpool at the moment. Desperate times at Anfield.
Fernando Torres and Pepe Riena rumours that they want to leave have been going on for some time now. Joining them on train out of Liverpool will be Glen Johnson. According to his agent, Johnson has become frustrated at Hodgson’s style of play, which he believes
is totally negative.
Gary Cahill has again been linked with a host of clubs; however, this time around it is an Italian club chasing his signature. AS Roma have registered their interest for the in-form Bolton defender. However, the £15m price tag will put off a few suitors.
Elsewhere, Everton will not entertain any offers for Phil Jagielka and Arsenal can keep their £10m offer to someone else.
Avram Grant, Roberto Mancini and Roy Hodgson are all likely to be gone before the January transfer window opens. This is welcome news for fans of all three clubs.
