English Premier League: Contenders for Player of the Season award (Part 4)
The English Premier League is only five weeks in, however most experts have already predicted a list of players, who are in strong contention to take home the player of the season award, once the season ends next summer.
Some might argue that it is far too early, to predict who is going to be performing better than the rest, in the coming months. None the less the experts have already correctly shortlisted the players who have won the prestigious honors in the past and hope
to do the same this time around. Here is a look at the players, who they believe will win the award.
Joe Hart: Quite possibly, the richest club in the world at the current moment in time is Manchester City. The team has what seems to be, an infinite amount of money to spend on players. The team has done just that, over the last couple of
seasons, City have managed to buy some of the best players in the world, for fee’s that seem ridiculous to everyone other then the officials at City. The team currently has a policy which states that, if a player could make the team better, then that player
should be brought into the club, no matter how much they cost.
Amidst these unusually expensive City players, is a player, who untill recently was rather unknown, a man named Joe Hart. Hart was brought into the team, when players like Robinho, Carlos Tevez etc were being brought in. This made people question, the teams
thought process that went in prior to singing the player.
However ever since his arrival Joe Hart has managed to establish himself, as the team’s first choice keeper. In doing so he has managed to over throw, Shay Given from that spot. However Hart has not managed to stop right there, he has gone on to become the
new first choice keeper for the England international side as well.
Hart was outstanding with Birmingham all of last season, the keeper even went on to help the team go on a twelve match unbeaten run, which included a clean sheet against Chelsea.
Hart in simple words has been phenomenal this season, he has quite possibly made no errors. In the opening game of the season, where City took on Tottenham, the only player that kept City in the game was Hart. Tottenham were easily dominating the match,
however Hart made some impossible saves and his efforts helped the team, go on and secure a draw.
The only error that the keeper has made so far, was against Blackburn. On a review of the goal that he conceded it was found that the goal was scored as a mistake caused by the defender and not the keeper himself.
He was also brilliant in the teams match against Liverpool. Many football critics have been baffled by the rate at which the keeper has grown and are left wondering if he would ever concede a goal from open play.
Hart is still only twenty one years old and has a whole career ahead of him, that being said he is already amongst the best keepers in the world, which leads us to wonder, just how good will Hart be once he improves? It’s a thought that seems almost impossible
to think of, either way if Hart can keep his tremendous form up for the rest of the season, then he could quite easily take home the player of the season award at the end of the season.
