English Premier League: Contenders for Player of the Season award (Part 5)

The English Premier League is only five weeks in, however most experts have already predicted a list of players, who are is strong contention to take home the player of the season award, once the season ends next summer.
Some might argue that it is far too early, to predict who is going to be performing better than the rest, in the coming months. None the less the experts have already correctly shortlisted the players who have won the prestigious honors in the past and hope
to do the same this time around. Here is a look at the players, who they believe will win the award.
Yaya Toure: Yaya Toure was part of the Barcelona side that went on to lift six trophies in a single season. This was a record that no other team had achieved in the history of the game of football. Yaya Toure was an integral part of Barcelona
during the time that they achieved these honors, however the following season his influence in the team started to decrease.
The manager Pep Guardiola, opted to use players like Sergio Busquets over Toure and this caused the player to grow highly frustrated with the team. As the transfer window opened Toure was signed by Manchester City. The player didn’t think twice before putting
pen to paper, as he was reunited with his brother, Kolo Toure at the club and the fact that he was made the highest paid footballer in the world was just another added bonus.
Toure has however managed to adapt to the English style of play with ease. The player can play as either a defensive midfielder, or a more central player. He is physically huge and wins almost every aerial battle that he enters. He is also more than just
a decent passer of the ball.
The player has become a regular first team player at the Eastlands and is one of the highest rated players in the world. Toure has the tendency of becoming the best player in the league, if he continues to play the way he did at Barcelona. It won’t be easy
but it is something that is achievable by the player.
Adam Johnson: One of the other players, who has earned his way to the top at Manchester City, is none other than Adam Johnson. Johnson was bought to the Eastlands in January last season from Middleborough and has been tremendous so far.
The winger came to City to play as a backup player, however in the short time he spent on the pitch, he won the hearts of almost everyone watching him play. Johnson has cemented his spot in the City side and is now the teams main play maker. He has even
kept the likes of David Silva and Shaun Wright-Phillips out of the side, which proves just how good the player really us.
Johnson has also made a position for himself in the English national team, on his rise to fame. He has become a starter for the national team and featured in the national sides qualifiers for the Euro 2012.
Johnson is a natural winger, but can play as either an attacking midfielder or a second striker. He is naturally a left footed player, but has very little to no difficulties while playing with his right foot. He whips in some of the most lethal crosses in
the league and has blinding pace. He tends to pass the ball rather then beat a team on his own, which shows that his intent is to play beautiful football, rather than being a ball hog.
Despite almost everyone in the Premier League hating, City and their players, the one player that no one can possible hate is Adam Johnson. Johnson is a success story in himself and he would be looking to build on that success by taking home the player of
the season award at the end of the season.
