English Premier League: Harry Redknapp reveals his liking for Fabiano

Tottenham Hotspur’s boss Harry Redknapp has come out and said that he will like to bring the Brazilian target man to white hart lane if Fabiano’s pay package allows him to do so. Harry guided Tottenham to a fourth place finish last season, in doing so he earned them a place in the qualification rounds of the UEFA Champions League.

Champions League is widely regarded by European football fans as the best club cup competition in Europe. Real Madrid have won the competition, a record nine times, followed by A.C Milan who have won it, seven times in their history as a football club.

Harry Redknapp is looking to strengthen his squad for the coming season, as he looks to challenge in the Champions League as well as other competitions such as the F.A Cup, the English Premier League and the Carling Cup. To do so, Harry would first of all need to add a renowned goal scorer to Tottenham’s squad and Luis Fabiano will fit that bill perfectly.

Fabiano currently plays his club football for Sevilla in Spain. The 29 year old impressed with his performances for Brazil, in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa. Even though Brazil, exited the competition after their quarterfinal loss to the eventual finalists Holland, Fabiano caught the eye of several big European clubs.

Talking about the Brazilian striker, Redknapp told ESPN that he likes the player and thinks that he will be a fantastic addition to any football team in the World Cup. Harry also added that he was informed that Luis Fabiano might be available for transfer but also elaborated that he had not spoken to Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy about any transfers, other than trying to lure Joe Cole to white hart lane.

Harry Redknapp also said that Tottenham had not made contact with Sevilla, regarding Luis Fabiano’s possible transfer situation. Harry also stated that he is not unhappy with his squad and also commented that if a special player came along, Tottenham will have a look at him. He said that Luis Fabiano is definitely a special player.

Harry sung more praises of the Brazilian striker as he said that Fabiano is a class act but his wage package might become a hurdle in his move to the North London club. Redknapp went onto say that Fabiano might be on an excessively high pay package at Sevilla, so if that is the case Tottenham might find it difficult to reach transfer terms.

Harry also reinforced his interest in Joe Cole, who left Chelsea after they failed to agree contractual terms with him. Harry said that he had managed Joe Cole when Cole was only eleven years old. Redknapp elaborated that Joe Cole’s love of the game is what made the English midfielder tick.

Redknapp also added that he was offering Joe Cole, regular first team football depending on the player’s fitness. He said that he had spoken to Joe Cole and informed him of Tottenham’s interests and ambitions. Harry further stated that now the deal is up to Tottenham’s chairman, Joe Cole’s agent and the player himself.
