English Premier League: Harry Redknapp says Bale isn’t for sale as Nani shows confidence
Gareth Bale has been put on the “not for sale” list by Tottenham Hotspurs after a couple of weeks which have propelled him from a “good player” to a “world class footballer”. Tottenham won their last UEFA Champions League match as Gareth
Bale became the star of the show due to his two assists against the European Champions, Inter Milan. In the corresponding fixture which was played two weeks ago at San Siro, Inter defeated Tottenham by four goals to three. Hotspur’s attempted a late comeback
in that game against Rafael Benitez’s team as Gareth Bale netted three goals to take the match ball home despite the fact that his team lost the game eventually.
After his blitzing performances for Tottenham Hotspurs, Harry Redknapp has come in the media to protest his star winger from interest which has come forth from Barcelona, Inter Milan, A.C Milan and Real Madrid. Harry said, "As far as selling
him goes, the people who own Tottenham are not poor people. They don't need to sell him. I don't think Gareth needs to go anywhere else to play his football. He needs to stay here at White Hart Lane. What confidence you must have as a player when you can come
and do that to people who are so highly rated."
Bale’s performances have prompted pundits to compare him to the ex-Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo. However, Harry was quick to dismiss the comparison as he said, "Bale is a different sort of player, Ronaldo's a fantastic player;
amazing goal scorer. This kid is just improving, improving; he's just getting better and better."
On the other hand, Luis Nani has showcased immense confidence as the winger has come out and said that he is going to be one of the best players in the world. Around a year ago many people at Old Trafford thought that the winger had no
future at the club due to his below par performances and wasteful appearances for the Red Devils but now he is one of the most prized assets at the club. Nani told the press after United’s match against Tottenham in the English Premier League, "I want to be
one of the best players, in the future; I want everyone to be saying Nani is one of the best players in the world. That is my ambition.”
Luis Nani added, “Maybe some people are saying it now. If they are I am very happy. I have been working hard to be in this position. But I know I can also do much better and will keep going every day to get there." Nani’s improvement as
also meant that he is now one of the more senior members of the squad. Many people have compared him to Cristiano Ronaldo but Nani is more focused on his job at hand at Manchester United. The Portuguese winger said, "I enjoy the pressure of being an important
member of the side. When you have the ambition to be a top player you have to like the pressure as well. I am happy to take on that responsibility and am enjoying my football at the moment."
Nani has also been praise for his mental toughness as he has not let his head drop despite having a difficult start to his Manchester United career in 2008. Nani added to his comments as he said, "Since I came to Manchester I always said
I believed in my qualities and my capabilities. Eventually I got my opportunities. I am more mature now and more experienced in the team. I am doing well now but I always felt I would get to this position. I always knew I could play well and be an important
member of the team."
