English Premier League Injury News
Tottenham Hotspur
English Premier League club, Tottenham Hotspur is boosted by the return of Michael Dawson. The 27-year-old returned to training after he suffered ankle and knee ligament damage while playing for England against Bulgaria in September.
Dawson was a central figure in Spurs success last season as they managed to finish 4th in the Premier League and qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
Manager Harry Redknapp seemed impressed by the recovery made by the player. He said, “It's the first time he has been out for us. He's worked with the fitness coaches who have done a good job with him. It is great to have him back
training."
Due to Rio Ferdinand’s injury, Dawson was part of England’s squad that featured in the FIFA World Cup in South Africa this summer, but did not cap any appearance in the competition.
The former Nottingham Forest FC defender only managed 3 outings for Spurs in the Premier League this season, before he got himself injured on international duty.
Meanwhile, club captain Ledley King is still working on his fitness. While describing King’s condition, Harry said, “Ledley King is to see a specialist to discover if he needs surgery on his groin injury. He is off to see a specialist
in Copenhagen and get a decision what needs doing next as to whether he feels he can carry on strengthening and trying to get fit without surgery."
West Ham United
West Ham United have been hit with the injury news of their influential midfielder Mark Noble. Noble suffered damage to his hip, while playing in West Ham’s 3-0 defeat against Liverpool FC this Saturday.
It is feared that Mark will have to be on the sidelines for the whole of December before he can make his return to 1st team action.
His absence will be a huge setback for the Hammers, who are currently rock bottom in the Premier League table at 20th place. Manager Avram Grant is already missing some fringe players due to long-term injuries, including
Thomas Hitzlsperger and Jack Collison.
However, the former Chelsea FC boss will be hopeful to get his captain Scott parker ready for the weekend’s match against Wigan Athletic.
Midfielder Valon Behrami could also mark his return to action, after missing the last 3 games for the London club.
West Ham’s home game against 18th placed Wigan in the Premier League is a must-win match for the Hammers.
