English Premier League: Leighton Baines going nowhere
Everton manager, David Moyes has insisted that his left back, Leighton Baines will not leave the Merseyside club to join reigning Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich.
This season has been a great one for the Englishman even though Everton have struggled so far. The left back scored a fabulous goal as Everton defeated Manchester City 2-1 this Monday. His goal turned out to be a winner and earned
Moyes’ side a much-needed 3 points.
David Moyes is not surprised to know about the interest that has been shown by Bayern Munich, but is very confident that the 26-year old will not leave the Goodison Park.
It has been rumoured that the Bavarians are ready to mount a 9 million pound bid for Baines when the January transfer window opens.
The former Wigan Athletic man just signed a contract extension with Everton last summer that will keep him at Everton until 2015 and it seems very unlikely that Everton will allow Bayern to snap up their prized asset so easily
and on such a low price for that matter.
David Moyes has rubbished the rumours and has termed the whole affair as ‘mere speculation’. He thinks that owing to his good form, many clubs will naturally be interested in him but is sure that he will not go anywhere other than
Everton.

XI as Wigan won promotion into the Premier League in its’ first season in the Championship.
In 2005, Baines signed a contract extension with Wigan Athletic when big Premier League clubs like, Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton were monitoring his progress.
However, in 2007, Baines rejected an offer from Sunderland when it was reported that a bid of 6 million Pounds was accepted by Wigan. In July 2007, Everton made an official move for the Wigan left back for the same price and he
departed for the Merseyside club. He did not feature regularly in his debut season owing to injuries and great forms of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joseph-Yobo-c19527, and his place was contested by left back Joleon Lescott.
The 2008-09 season saw Baines get more playing time as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Joleon-Lescott-c18941 left for Manchester City while he made the left back position his and that has been the case since then.
