English Premier League: Liverpool to Sell Babel, Jovanovic and Pacheco
New Liverpool owners, NESV, are reportedly planning to have a clear out in the January transfer window. The fringe players include Ryan Babel, Milan Jovanovic and Dani Pacheco, and are expected to be on their way out in the upcoming transfer
window, these players are usually on the bench and have not been receiving first team playing opportunities.
According to reports the NESV are hoping that they will able to cut the costs, more specifically the wage bill, which will make more funds available to Roy Hodgson to make additions to his squad. Hodgson will be pleased with having more
funds available, the Liverpool boss has a long list of players he wants to bring to Anfield this January.
Since moving to Liverpool in 2007, Babel has not been able to establish himself in the first eleven. The lack of regular first team football resulted in Babel looking to leave last season; however, he performed well in the latter half
of the campaign and ended up staying. But ever since Hodgson took over, Babel has only made five appearances in the Premier League, and that too as a substitute.
Summer signing Jovanovic turned out to be a big disappointment; he has only scored one goal for the Reds so far. His first and only goal came against Northampton Town in the League Cup, the fixture which Liverpool won. The striker has
mainly featured in the Europa League for Liverpool but has not made an impact on the team and is most likely on his way out.
Pacheco, the 19-year-old has also been unable to make a good impression on Kop’s new boss Roy Hodgson. He has not yet made a breakthrough into the Liverpool first team and has only featured four times for the Reds this season. Three out
of those four times was as a substitute and Hodgson may feel that it is time for the player to move on.
The former Barcelona player is a fast paced player with excellent technique, especially when it comes to shooting. The youngster was the star for his national side in this summer’s UEFA European under-19 Football Championship. However,
he failed to duplicate his success for Liverpool and will probably be on his way out in January.
