English Premier League: Manchester City boss says Roque Santa Cruz can move on
Manchester City boss has revealed that his target man Roque Santa Cruz can look for a new club come the transfer January window. In the summer transfer window of 2010, City splashed a massive amount of cash as they welcomed the likes
of Mario Balloteli, David Silva, James Milner and Yayah Toure into their setup. The arrival of these players has meant that Roque has seen limited amount of first team action in the 2010-2011 season.
Roberto Mancini, the Manchester City manager said, "Roque is a fantastic man and a good player, but he knows the situation here, I am very sorry for him because Roque deserves to play every game, because he works very well. But it
is difficult at the moment. I hope for him that he can go to play for another team, because he deserves this." Manchester City next take on Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Molineux stadium in the English Premier League on Saturday the 30th of October.
They will be without their talismanic striker Carlos Tevez who has travelled to Argentina to spend some time with his family due to his fitness troubles.
Earlier on in the week, Santa Cruz came out in the press and said that Tevez was unhappy at City and wanted to be amongst his own people back in Argentina. However, the Paraguayan striker also said that the ex-Manchester United player
will stay with City till the end of his contract which is scheduled to expire in 2014.
Mancini spoke about Tevez and his homesickness as he revealed, "He never talks to me about this, but I think it is normal. When you are in another country for a long time, it is normal that sometimes you need your country or your
family. But he has his job here and it is a fantastic job. I don't think we have a problem." Mancini also commented on the fact that whether or not he was worried by the rumors that his striker will not see out the length of his contract at City by stating,
“No, not at all”.
Roberto added to his comments by saying implying that Tevez should cut down on international football. The ex-Inter Milan boss said, "It is impossible, I think, but maybe sometimes when they have a friendly match it would be better
for him to stay here to recover, if it is possible, it would be better for us and better for him. But when they are important games with the national team, it is difficult."
Tevez’s fitness and psychological problems might be a blessing in disguise for Mario Balotelli’s first team hopes at the Eastland’s stadium. The moody Italian striker made his move from Inter Milan to Manchester City in the summer
transfer window for a large amount of money, but ever since his arrival, he has seen injury problems and a lack of first team action plague his time in England with City thus far. Mancini spoke about his young striker as he stated, "I think Mario must start
to play here - this is the first thing. It is very important for us. He played for 20 minutes against Arsenal. He is a good player and I think he will be a very important player for us this season."
Manchester City lost their last league match in the English Premier League against Arsenal F.C by three goals to nil. The match saw Boyata, the young Belgian defender sent off for City, an incident which decreased their numbers on
the field down to ten men. The numerical advantage proved too much in the end as the Blues were ripped apart by the Gunners. However, City will be expected to do well against Wolves in their upcoming Premier League match up.
