English Premier League: Manchester United might loan out its youngsters
Sir Alex Ferguson has hinted that he wants to send some of his young stars out on loans to Premier League clubs next season. Ferguson is famous for nurturing young talent and bringing it into United’s first team when the youthful footballers are ready for the big stage.
Fergie is currently managing Manchester United and has been in charge at the club for more than 22 years. He took over in 1986 and has guided the Red devils to numerous English league titles as well as European Championships. Sir Alex is famous for his no nonsense approach to the game which consists of discipline and proper off-the-field behavior as well.
Fergie’s most famous bunch of youngsters were the 1994 class of Manchester United’s youth academy, which included footballers like David Beckham, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Phillip Neville. These professionals, who were youngsters back then, achieved maturity at United under Ferguson’s tough approach.
Manchester United are presently on tour to U.S.A, Canada and Mexico. This tour is a part of their pre-season preparations which will help them get ready for the up-coming English Premier League season. The ex-Aberdeen manager is giving United’s new crop of youngsters’ chances to prove themselves at the club by giving them regular first team starts.
Some of the United’s young guns started in their previous two pre-season matches against Celtic in Canada and against Philadelphia Union in U.S.A. Ferguson has revealed that he plans to send some of his fledglings on loans to other Premier League clubs so that they can gain first team experience.
One of United’s young stars Daniel Wellbeck is being targeted by Sunderland F.C. The Scotsman said that, the coming season is going to be a big one for Wellbeck because he has not played a consistent run of games during the previous two seasons.
He also said that, last season Danny was on loan to Preston but he failed to play a lot of football there because of a knee injury which he sustained at the start of the season. Fergie also stated that Wellbeck was going through a growth sprout because of which he needed to play regular football, so that his body keeps up with the physical growth.
United’s long standing manager also remarked about Tom Cleverley, who has impressed during the pre-season tour so far. Sir Alex said that, he is considering sending Tom on a loan to a premier league club as well, so that the youngster gains some valuable experience. Tom himself also commented on his situation saying that, this season will be a huge one for him as he has to impress his employers by performing in the English Premier League.
He also stated that, playing alongside legends such as Paul Scholes in a Manchester United shirt is every young lads dream. Cleverley added that, Giggs and Scholes are two of the best footballers on the planet to learn from and being with the first team during the pre-season tour is helping him learn a lot of things.
