English Premier League News: Blackburn’s Allardyce claims he is more suited for Chelsea or Man Utd
Sam Allardyce has gone ahead and stated that neither him nor his opponent for this coming weekend, Mark Hughes, were able to display their talent at bigger clubs because they weren’t given enough time. He went on to further state
that he sees himself as being good enough to manage clubs like Inter, Real Madrid or Manchester United.
Both Hughes and Allardyce will be crossing paths on Saturday. Allardyce is currently in charge of Blackburn while Hughes has been appointed as manager of Fulham. However Allardyce is insistent on the fact that both the managers
have not yet shown their true class and level in the management game. Hughes was previously in charge of Manchester City but was fired from the post after failing to achieve the targets set by the board, while Allardyce was handed Newcastle but was relieved
of his duties before the season hit the midway point.
Allardyce however strongly opposes any and all types of criticism and was reported to have said, “It wouldn't be a problem to me to go and manage those clubs because I would win the double or the league every time.”
He added, “Give me Manchester United or Chelsea and I would do the same, it wouldn't be a problem. It's not where I'm suited to; it's just where I've been for most of the time.”
Mark Hughes however, has gone against what many people predicted and has had a stable start to his new managerial career with Fulham. He is currently managing one of the only five teams in the League to not have lost a single game
so far. Two of the other teams that share this record with him are Arsenal and Chelsea, both of whom are in the top two spots in the Premier League table.
Allardyce has agreed to the fact that Hughes is one of the best managers around, however he was more than disappointed to see how he was treated by Manchester City. Allardyce reflected on this by saying, “His Manchester City reign
obviously was not long enough. A little bit like me at Newcastle, but I didn't last quite as long as Sparky though.” He further noted, “He was given the chance and unfortunately at that stage of his career they decided to have a change.”
Allardyce also said, “You look back on it and he'll be very disappointed because they only lost two games I think. But that is the way it is sometimes, there's a perception that other people can do better than you, but often the
reality is not the case.”
Everyone is still confused and wondering as to why Allardyce randomly felt like making these claims. They could either be his way of initiating mind games with his opponents, or it might be that the manager has finally lost his
marbles. However what we can say for a fact is that this isn't the end of this story and there will be plenty more to come in the coming few days.
