Chelsea Chase Everton’s Pienaar
Defending Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly planning to launch a bid for Everton winger Steven Pienaar, who refused to sign a new contract with the club earlier this season. His current contract expires at the
end of this season, and he will most likely be on his way out then. The South African international has shown signs of being unsettled at the Merseyside club, and the Blues have picked up on that and seem intent on bringing him to Stamford Bridge during the
January transfer window.
The 28-year-old would make an excellent addition to Carlo Ancelotti’s tired squad, who could use some freshening up with reinforcements. Pienaar would be ideal since the player is capable of playing on either wing and possesses
both experience and pace. The Blues have recently been accused of lacking depth, and it is fairly obvious that Pienaar’s arrival will be a move towards solving that problem.
There is reason for optimism about the move too. Everton boss David Moyes admitted that he was in need of transfer funds, and would consider selling http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Pienaar-c34208 if he found a suitable replacement. It is that time of the year
again when managers are looking to strengthen their squads, and sometimes selling off ineffective players to raise funds is the only way to do it. However, he will be somewhat reluctant as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tim-Cahill-c35085 is away on international duty, and Pienaar’s departure will
leave a big hole in the team if a substitute is not found.
With the £3 million price tag Pienaar is fetching, it will be impossible for Moyes to find a suitable player to replace him in that budget. He might just have to turn to free transfers if there are no other options available.
Pienaar will not be cup tied in Europe, but he will be for the FA Cup, where Chelsea face Everton in the fourth round. Moyes will try and retain the services of Pienaar until that time, since he needs all the help he can get against the holders, even if he
does plan on eventually selling Pienaar in the future.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 youngster Borini to move to Parma
Italian youngster http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Borini-c13163 looks set to leave for Parma, and the player’s agent claimed it was the “ideal solution” for the striker. Since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, Borini has just made eight appearances for the Blues
and is now expected to return to his home country. Despite negotiations, a contract extension could not be agreed upon, which led to interest from various Serie A teams including Parma, Lazio and Roma.
Borini’s agent Marco De Marchi said, “The transfer to Parma is not official yet, but the situation is well advanced with the Gialloblu. In recent months, there was interest in the boy from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, but Parma have advanced
things. Despite the esteem Ancelotti has for him, when an agreement with Chelsea wasn't reached to renew his contract, it was decided to find a different solution.”
With negotiations still on-going, Borini’s agent believes a move to Parma will be in the best interest of the player. He added, “Fabio needs a reality that allows him to make the most of his quality, a club with a very specific
technical project and Parma, in this sense, is the ideal solution. In the coming days there will be meetings to define the situation.”
