English Premier League - Part2: Players that need to be sold by their clubs
The summer transfer window has been open for what seems like forever now. Most teams have had players coming in for almost every possible position that anyone can think of. Almost all of the time everyone has talked about the players that need to be brought into the team to make an impact on the side or what player could fill the missing void to help steer the team to success.
While the addition of some players would make a significant change to the side, the exclusion of some players could prove to have almost the same impact on the side. Here is a look at players that teams could do without and would most probably even perform better without.
Charles N'Zogbia: N'Zogbia, is easily one of the better players to be playing in the English Premier League. He is also one of the most versatile. He can play almost anywhere on the pitch. His preferred position is in midfield but when duty calls, the player doesn’t mind playing as either a side back or a forward. He is more than capable of playing in those positions and is always a threat.
N'Zogbia made his move to Wigan in what was one of the best transfers the club had managed to make in a long while. The French born player, immediately became a fan favorite thanks to his stunning performances and never say die attitude. However over the past couple of months the player had started to fall out of favor with the manger and the club.
N'Zogbia, didn’t feature in the season opener in which Wigan were thrashed, four goals to nil by Blackpool. Wigan’s manager Roberto Martinez said that the player didn’t participate in the match, because he wasn’t in the right state of mind. What experts believe is that the player quite possibly, just didn’t want to participate in the match perhaps because he was aware that Wigan were probably going to end up losing the game. The player was fined a heavy sum by the club, but he was more than happy to pay them that resulting fine.
N'Zogbia, is clearly a player who isn’t happy at the club at which he is employed. The reasons for this could be the fact that the club didn’t make any changes to the squad after repeated pleas from the player. The other reason could be the fact that the player wishes to play at a higher level and is aware that the chances of him playing at those levels is not possible with Wigan.
Numerous team’s have shown interest in the player. The team’s that have formally made inquires for the player include, Birmingham City, Sunderland, Juventus and Marseille. The player is more than keen to leave before the close of the transfer window and it would be better for the club and the player if they let him leave. It would be fairly pointless for any team to have a player amongst their ranks if he has lost all interest in playing for the side. This is because the player would never play at their full potential and would constantly be holding the team back even if it is unintentionally.
N'Zogbia could benefit from a move away from the club, he would be able to grow as a player and might just happen to impress the French national squad manager enough to get a call up to play for France in the upcoming Euro 2012.
